Ever wonder how much top NCAA Division I Men's Basketball coaches get paid? Today I stumbled upon a slide show that shows the top 21 highest paid basketball coaches. Spoiler alert: number 21 is Roy Williams of UNC and number 1 is Coach K. There is a brief description of what their pay entails and benefits.

After viewing the slideshow and how much these coaches are paid, do you think they are paid too much?
I saw this same atricle its incredible some of the money in NCAA sports and basketball alone for that matter. Do you think players should be paid?
ReplyDeleteI don't think that college athletes should be paid. Because technically it's not their "profession" like it would be if they went pro.
DeleteI think it's suprising that Coach K and Roy Williams are ranked so far apart for how frequently they're compared. And a nearly 6 million dollar difference? Coach K is such a huge name that I imagined he made a lot of money, but over $7 million? It's a little excessive if you ask me, but he produces every year so Duke must find it worth it.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. It's crazy how much they get paid, however they do put in the hours and do a great job.
DeleteWhen I was scrolling through the slideshow I was ok with the numbers I was seeing. When I came across Coach K at over 7 million dollars, my jaw dropped. Granted, he is considered the best basketball coach of all time but 7 million dollars and what about the bonuses he gets for winning titles. I realize how dedicated and focused they are to do what they do but, to me, that is an outrageous amount of money to be making, but when you look at it, athletes get paid a lot too and it seems to be justified.
ReplyDeleteThat is crazy. Coach K is ridiculously overpaid even being the "greatest coach" in NCAA history.
ReplyDeleteYes Coach K has done a lot for the Duke basketball program. However, 7 million!? I just don't see how that is possible.
